WebMay 29, 2024 · Don't select the date format that you want to finish up. Select the existing date format in the text file. Excel will import the date and then convert it (if necessary) to the regional date format for your computer. Basically you need to tell Excel what the format of the date is in the existing text file so it knows how to convert it. Regards, WebMay 16, 2024 · Opened the file as normal in excel. Selected the column in question and formatted cells into text. This converted all the dates in the file into floating point numbers. Finally Apply following custom format to the cells: dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss The result is that every date in the file is now correctly formatted into UK date format. Share Follow
